Family
This is my Familia
Family has always been one of the most important parts of my life. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and I have lived there my entire life. I grew up in a Mexican-American household. I come from a family of six, including my mom, dad, my two older sisters, my younger brother, and me.
I am blessed to say that I come from a very loving and hard working family. They are what keeps me motivated to continue to pursue my education today. Although my parents do not hold a bachelors or masters degree to prove their intelligence, my parents have always been some of the smartest and most hard-working people I know, growing with them and watching them work hard towards their own goals and goals they have had for my siblings and I have always been so inspiring. They have always encouraged my siblings and I to take our education very seriously and to always be open to new opportunities for ourselves. My parents have shown my siblings and I that success does not happen overnight and that you have to be willing to put in the work for the life you really want. The support from my family has given me the confidence to continue to work hard towards my career. I know that I would not have the same motivation to chase my dreams without all the examples and encouragement my family has given me throughout my entire life.
I am actually the third person in my family to now attend Texas State University. My oldest sister Cristina received her Bachelor’s degree from Texas State back in 2021 then, shortly after she received her Master’s degree from Baylor University in 2022. Recently, My second oldest sister Brianna received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Texas State. In spring of 2028, I will then be the third in my family to hold a Bachelor’s degree from Texas State University. My younger brother has always been very easy. He always loved school and has always been very intelligent since he was younger. My parents have placed him in an early college prep school where he will soon graduate with not only his HighSchool Diploma but, with an Associate’s degree as well. I am extremely proud of my siblings and I for everything we have accomplished together as a family. I know that we have made our parents extremely proud. My mother said this is all she’s ever dreamed of. As a family we continue to work hard and make our parents extremely proud and make both our parents and our own dreams true.
